I recently updated my PopClip extensions collection to use a lot more TypeScript and a lot less Ruby and Python, making extensions faster, easier to sign, and far less reliant on the user having certain processors installed. I also switched the majority of ones that relied on modifier keys to use the new submenu feature. And now there’s an easier way to share them.
Nick over at PopClip has opened up a GitHub-based submission process for the extensions directory. I took full advantage of it, given all of my extensions from Brett’s PopClip Extensions were already on GitHub and the process of submitting them was now pretty painless. Extensions are still manually approved by Nick, but once they’re listed, they’re easy to install and get automatic updates whenever I push a new version.
I have an author page in the directory, from which you can find all of the extensions from my collection I thought worth sharing. I will most likely be using this instead of the zip download from the project page, as the directory extensions get automatically signed and are easy to update with a git tag. Plus, from the user side, installation is a snap and you don’t have to download the whole mess of them.
So check out the now-rapidly-growing PopClip Extensions Directory!
